An MCN reader from Milton Keynes has bagged himself a brand-new Suzuki GSX-8R sportsbike and a bundle of free Furygan riding kit – all by simply getting an insurance quote online with MCN Compare.
Mark Foden, 52, got the news that he’d won the competition during a motorcycle tour in France, having taken out a quote for his old Triumph Street Triple in June of this year.
It was the first time he’d entered one of the competitions and says he was shocked to be picked out as the lucky winner.
“I was a little bit taken aback,” he told MCN during a special handover at Suzuki GB on September 15. “It’s not a bike I’d looked at in the past, but it’s something I’ve done a fair bit of reading about since!”
Not only did he bag the bike, but there was also the promise of a pair of Furygan D12 X Kevlar Straight riding jeans and a Speed Mesh Evo 3 leather jacket to help keep him safe on the road.
“I’m going to make the most of the weather while we’ve got some and get some miles on it, and then I’ll see what the summer brings next year,” Mark continued – making space in the garage alongside his Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, Scrambler 1200 XE, and Kawasaki AR50.
”I’m definitely looking forward to riding it. The write-ups are very positive.”
The 8R took MCN’s 2024 Sportsbike of the Year Award and was the latest in a long line of motorcycle giveaways run in partnership with our insurance comparison experts, MCN Compare. The Speed Triple 1200 RS is the Hinckley firm’s flagship super-naked model and was updated to become even more powerful and advanced ahead of the 2025 riding season.
The 1160cc 12v inline triple motor has been updated for Euro5+ regulations and now pumps out a claimed 180.5bhp at 10,750rpm – around 3bhp up on the outgoing version, first introduced in 2021.
